Marvel announced, ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, that it will be moving forward with their Cinematic Universe well into 2019. Marvel is pushing forward with their slate despite legitimate competition for superhero films from Fox, Sony, and Warner Brothers.
Thor 3 and Iron Man 4 are still in discussion, as is an apparent sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy. We now know that Marvel will continue their 2-movie-a-year process currently underway. Avengers 3 is probably another movie due as speculation has it that this movie will feature an Avengers-Guardians team up against the ultimate MCU threat, Thanos.
Along with these films, Marvel also has broadcast network shows part of the MCU in the 2nd season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the 1st season of Agent Carter, as well as a joint venture with Netflix to produce The Defenders Marvel series, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage.
