The folks Latino-Review have broken a bit of news today allegedly revealing the villain(s) for the next Star Wars film.
This post includes HUGE SPOILERS so you must read at your own peril. I would not read this if you want to be surprised by the next installment of the Star Wars saga.
There are many reports on the story Episode VII follows. Most commonly, we have heard that John Boyega and Daisy Ridley are two young jedis looking for Luke Skywalker at the beginning of the film. The Empire is supposedly still in existence, but only in remnants, but strong enough to begin regaining control to parts of the universe.
Pundits have been speculating that not only have the Jedi been scattered since Return of the Jedi, but the Sith have been clawing back into power as well. In particular, the Sith are hunting down the Jedi to eradicate what metastasized after Return of the Jedi.
All this is pure conjecture at this point, but Da7e at Latino-Review is now saying that the Sith are led by a new character that we will see in Star Wars Rebels, the upcoming animated series set to premiere on Disney XD in October. He noted that reports that he has heard from the set are that Luke and other Jedi have been hunted down by “bounty hunters” or “Sith Witches.”
“The Inquisitors are the villains of Star Wars: Episode VII and the name of the main villain in Star Wars: Rebels. They seem to be loosly based on the now-deleted Expanded Universe Inquistors (Click here for that background) mixed with the hardended Sith look of Rebels’ villain. The Inquisitors are defenders of the Sith Order and they’ve been around for a long time. Just how long is what turns Episode VII’s story on it’s head.”
Da7e goes on to describe the scenes that set up our introduction to this order of the Sith. AGAIN, HUGE POSSIBLE SPOILERS…
Boyega, Ridley, and possibly Han and Chewie find Luke and the Inquisitors are revealed, Luke explains the history of this order, triggering a flashback that shows that the Inquisitors have been there all the time.
Billie Lourd, Carrie Fisher’s daughter, is said to play a young Princess Leia in the flashback which also shows that the Inquisitors were emissaries of Darth Vader. So, Darth Vader will be in the movie as previously rumored, but maybe not played by the actor rumored!!
All will be revealed on December 18, 2015, but before that make sure to follow or watch Star Wars Rebels, and read the recently released Star Wars book, Star Wars: A New Dawn.
