Disney has announced a slew of updates to its movie release calendar. The untitled, live-action Disney fairy tale film previously dated for Dec. 22, 2017 has moved up to July 28, 2017.
If Disney’s Burbank headquarters suggests the look of a whimsical, post-modern Parthenon, with columns styled as giant “Snow White” dwarves, then a sixth-floor screening room might be the building’s most sacred shrine. At least to Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn.
Disney has moved its “Jungle Book” reboot back six months to April 15, 2016, and filled the Oct. 9 slot with the Chris Pine disaster drama “The Finest Hours.” “Jungle Book” is directed by Jon Favreau, with Neel Sethi as Mowgli and Idris Elba voicing the tiger Shere Khan. Warner Bros.
Did you know that Tim Burton was once a fledgling Disney animator? Well, here is a strange video of an apparent tour of the Disney animator offices from the ’80s. Tim seems rightfully out of it, but also he looks stunningly just like the kid-Dr. Frankenstein he created for FrankenWeenie!
